Panoramic city views

Views to die for:

TOKYO'S TWIN TOWERS:

did not have time to make it to Japan's sacred mountain, Mt Fuji, but still managed to admire it from afar atop the twin towers at Shinjuku.  and it's FREE! The pristine, virginal, snowy peak of Fujiyama rising above the vast expanse of the conurbation of Tokyo spread beneath its feet. Kinda reminds me of Mt Vesuvius when I was in Nipples... Oops! Pardon the Freudian slip. I mean Naples, Italy some years back. Like Mt Fuji, Vesuvius is the 'breast' of the city, nourishing the land with the 'milk' (lava) that it spewed forth, rendering it fertile for agriculture. Hmm...volcanic eruption being analogous to lactating! But at the same time, it is also an ominous lump like breast cancer, waiting for its next eruption when it would pulverise the city just like the fate that met Pompeii.

the vast expanse of Tokyo's conurbation, located at the feet of Fujiyama, and also totally at its mercy

 VIEWS OF NARA:
Stunning views captured when ascending a hill in Nara....

a wooden plaque marking the highest point of the hill....(342m)

a lone deer grazing at the hill top

I have no idea what this rock is for, but it fits in so well with the landscape

Gasp! no words needed for this....

reminds me of a scene in Korean drama
